Twitter has released an update that will bring a solution to the auto-scrolling issue on iOS devices. The v8.1.5 update for iOS fixes an automatic scroll bug that was restricting iPhone or iPad users to read tweets in peace.

Several users reported an auto-scrolling issue after which Twitter admitted that its iOS app suffers from an automatic scroll bug. The update is out now and if you haven’t received it yet, it should be on its way. Users can also visit the App Store to manually check for new v8.1.5 updates.

A fix for the auto-scrolling bug is now rolling out! Thank you for your patience while we worked on this. Please update your iOS app to version 8.1.5 when it becomes available to you, ”the company confirmed in a tweet from its support handle.

The Twitter support account yesterday confirmed that they have taken cognizance of the case and are doing the work right. “We know that your timeline auto-scrolling on iOS is disappointing and we’re sorry for the inconvenience. Now we’re working on fixing it. Thanks for sticking with us,” it said. Auto-scrolling issue only iOS App users and Android users were not reported to have encountered any such problem.

Earlier, Twitter had announced that it would launch a filter that would hide unwanted direct messages or DMs, providing a new tool to prevent misuse. DMs of those you do not follow will be sent to a secondary folder, making it easy to avoid flooding unwanted messages in the inbox.

The micro-blogging site had reported in August this year that it was working on such a facility. It announced in October that the new DM filter was available for Twitter on iOS, Android and the web.
